As we begin a new year, it’s important to set an intention for the year ahead. While you may think of an intention as a new year’s goal, an intention is actually a lot more than that. An intention is a goal which includes the feelings of what it will be like when you accomplish your goal. By setting an intention instead of a goal, you’ll set an energetic pattern in your mind, body and spirit and you’ll increase your chances of achieving your goal.
To set an intention for the year ahead, choose a goal and then visualize yourself accomplishing it. Close your eyes and see yourself accomplishing your goal. Then think about how it will feel when you accomplish your goal. Tune it to those feelings and sit with them in meditation for a while.
Often when we set goals, we forget to think about the feelings involved in achieving them. That’s why we sometimes have trouble accomplishing our goals.
